Owner, Edinburgh Birding & Nature Guides

! I founded Edinburgh Birding & Nature Tours in 2023 and, since then, I've guided groups from all over the world. I've worked with the most experienced US birders, new enthusiasts from Edinburgh, photographers and listers and everything in-between. Together we've seen the best of Edinburgh's birdlife, and we're now expanding into areas like Perthshire, Glasgow, and Fife, as well as a sister business in Manchester and Liverpool. I'm very proud of my record of happy guests on more than 100 tours, which you can read more about on our Google Reviews and TripAdvisor pages.

In my time away from birding, I'm the author of a book of nature poetry and I love to learn foreign languages: I speak French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese fluently, and I'm starting to learn Mandarin Chinese.

President of the Edinburgh University Ornithological Society, Annie is always showing guests the birds of our city. Her previous work was with visitors to Rathlin, an RSPB reserve on an island between Northern Ireland and Scotland. With plenty of experience birding in the UK and abroad, we're delighted to have Annie working with us.

Patrick

Patrick has a long history of educating the public about wildlife, and birds in particular. He has worked at Berwickshire Marine Reserve - the first specific 'gull ranger' in Scotland (!), educating the public about urban gulls and working on a co-existence strategy - as well as volunteering at world-famous locations like for Fair Isle Bird Observatory, St Abbs Head NNR (National Trust For Scotland), and South Stack RSPB. He also works as an ecological consultant.
